Position Overview:

The Junior GDAC Operator ensures GDAC readiness, monitors all surveillance systems,

and coordinates accurate incident related reporting. Ultimately, they maintain and monitor

compliance of operations against Gemfields’ Policies and Procedures. Shift work is

required due with this role as the GDAC is a 24/7 operation.

The role responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining the full operational readiness of the GDAC.

• Monitoring all GDAC surveillance systems, including CCTV, Drone Footage, Vehicle

Tracking, Dash Cameras, Body Cameras, and Facial Recognition.

• Coordinate and ensure the accurate reporting of incidents through Gemfields'

reporting platform, GTRAC.

• Familiarise yourself with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) pertaining to

security across all Gemfields projects.

• Upholding operational compliance with all relevant Gemfields Group Policies and

Procedures through ongoing reviews.

• Responsible for managing, investigating, and closely monitoring high-risk incidents, as

well as maintaining comprehensive incident-related records.

• The Junior GDAC Operator is instrumental in establishing the GDAC as a central hub

for coordinating emergency responses, mitigating risks, and elevating safety standards.

Minimum qualifications and experience:

• Matric (Grade 12)

• Excellent working knowledge and interest of computers and technology.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to focus.

• Ability to accurately keep record of data and occurrences.

• Ability to professionally write investigative reports.

• Ability to effectively multitask.

• Willingness to work in shifts (i.e. long, non-standard hours, such as evening, night,

weekend and early-morning shifts).
